West Ham United and Arsenal emergency goalkeeper celebrates memorable Blackpool win

9:39am Wednesday 22nd February 2012

West Ham hero Henri Lansbury admitted he enjoyed the experience of going in goal during the Hammers' remarkable 4-1 win at Blackpool.

The Irons were 2-1 up in the second half when keeper Robert Green was sent off and with no reserve shot stopper on the bench midfielder Lansbury was thrust into the action.

The Arsenal youngster did not concede a goal as the Hammers returned to the top of the Championship.

Lansbury told the club website: "I was a bit shocked at first but then the gaffer turned around and said 'You're going in' so I thought 'alright' and I couldn't wait to get on. It was enjoyable.

"I enjoy playing in goal. I did it quite a bit when I was with my mates and in five-a-side tournaments I go in goal, but to play out on the pitch is another level, to be honest with you.

"It was massive [win]. The league is so tight at the top so we want to keep winning and stretch away. The lads played great at Blackpool and are playing great in training. The team spirit is there so we want to keep this run going now and be hard to beat."
